The Old Town School of Folk Music and the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce teamed up to create one of the best events on the north side of Chicago. Since 2012, the Square Roots Festival has brought fans of local craft beer and local musical talents to Lincoln Square for three days of summer fun. We were brought in to work with these two organizations and create a logomark that unified their vision for the event.
The identity for the festival uses a shape that evokes the feeling of a folk music instrument. The typography sits neatly inside of the container and is stacked in a condensed typeface to maximize the size and legibility of the name.
