Lutheran Malaria Initiative

Malaria affects millions each year, and the Lutheran Malaria Initiative raised money to help people in high-risk, but under-resourced, countries through a combination of education, treatment, and prevention. We developed the tagline, “Give a First Chance” and applied it to a wide variety of materials that included the website, videos, pocket folders, donor brochures, instructional guides and fundraising kits. These new materials were designed to bring a heightened sophistication to the brand and to help readers form an emotional connection with the people who would benefit from their generous support.

Animated Video

Getting people invested in joining the cause required a quick way to explain the problem as well as a solution. We wrote and directed this animated video and worked with the production house, Mode Project, to show what can happen if we ignore the malaria epidemic for only one minute.

Fundraising Materials

Fundraising Materials The campaign hinged on getting young members of churches to champion the cause and raise money for the charity.

Though we had in-house graphic designers and web developers, we chose to work with GD Squared because of their unique combination of nimbleness and out-of-the-box thinking. Their level of investment, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for the project made them an integral part of our team and led us to a website, games, videos, and brochures that far exceeded in creativity and vibrancy anything we could have produced on our own.
